Chelsio Demonstrates Application Acceleration For Video Editing And Large-Scale Content Delivery At NAB 2017

Showcases Acceleration of Windows-Based Media Workflows and Content Delivery Applications (April 25, 2017)

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Chelsio Communications, Inc., a leading provider of high performance (1Gb/10Gb/25Gb/40Gb/50Gb/100Gb) Ethernet adapters and ASICs for storage networking, virtualized enterprise datacenters, cloud service installations, and cluster computing environments, today announced demonstrations of its Terminator 6 (T6) Unified Wire adapters for acceleration of Avid Media Composer® running on Windows 10 Enterprise Client, and improved capacity and service quality for large-scale content delivery applications at the Chelsio booth #SL15409, National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) 2017 conference in Las Vegas.

Video Editing Acceleration Using Window 10 Enterprise Client RDMA
The first demonstration shows Avid Media Composer running on Windows 10 Enterprise Client systems using the Client RDMA feature of Chelsio's 40G T580 RDMA enabled NIC delivering consistently higher network throughput for video workflows at lower CPU utilization.  The Windows 10 Enterprise Client RDMA feature allows improved response times for the broad base of Windows 10 Enterprise professional applications, including video editing applications, requiring high-performance access to Windows Server storage.

The demonstration validates iWARP RDMA's ability to accelerate I/O-intensive Windows 10 Enterprise video editing applications through highly efficient network data movement and higher availability of CPU cycles for application processing.  As a result, customers using Windows 10 Enterprise for media and entertainment (M&E) applications will see performance improvements while taking advantage of the ease of use and low cost of ownership of Chelsio iWARP.


Content Delivery Network (CDN) and Video-on-Demand (VoD) Application Acceleration
